Physiotherapist B.Phty (Hons)
Gabrielle has over 20 years experience working in elite dance environments. Upon completing her Diploma of Dance from the Australian Ballet School, Gabrielle joined the Australian Ballet Company as a professional dancer. Following a successful 10-year ballet career she retired to study physiotherapy - her background in dance and the artistic nature of movement made her curious about the mechanics of the body and injury rehabilitation, physiotherapy was a natural fit. During this time Gabrielle was also teaching ballet at Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. Gabrielle completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours in 2004. She was then thrilled to be able to present her honours research at the IADMS conference in 2005 in Sweden.
Since graduating, Gabrielle has continued to work with elite dancers at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, the Australian Ballet Company and the Australian Ballet School, as well as honing her craft in hospitals and private practice.
Gabrielle joined the InSync family in 2008 as a physio and a Pilates instructor. Treating dancers is (of course) of special interest to her, and her extensive dance background makes her uniquely qualified. She has also really enjoyed collaborating with Narelle and the other dance physios at InSync delivering Workshops for dancers and teachers around Melbourne and Victoria.
At the beginning of 2020, Gabrielle took over the role of physiotherapist at the Australian Ballet School.
When she’s not treating, Gabrielle likes to watch theatrical productions of any kind, and escaping the city to go camping. The rest of her time is taken up being a loving mother of 4 (two young boys and two spoilt cats).
