Abbey Stephenson

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons)

Growing up as a dancer, Abbey deferred university to pursue a year of full-time contemporary dance training. Her love of movement developed into an intrigue in human physiology and biomechanics. Outside the dance studio, Abbey has been interested in first aid and education, receiving her bronze medallion in 2016 and working as a learn-to-swim instructor. While undertaking her degree, Abbey filled her time as a medical receptionist and worked as a sports trainer for her local football club, assisting with taping, massage and injury management.

Abbey graduated from Monash University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) with a true passion for rehabilitation. Her favourite aspect of physiotherapy training has been the opportunity to connect with different people and witness how physical function influences their lives. As a previously dedicated student, Abbey wants to step into her physiotherapy career with an eagerness to learn and develop her skills.

Joining InSync in 2024 has been an exciting and nostalgic experience for Abbey, as she was once a young dancer, entering the clinic for her own pre-pointe assessment. Abbey sends a friendly welcome to all that enter InSync, whether it's preparing for pointe work, returning to sport or getting back to walking around the block.
